Reshop, a pioneering platform dedicated to transforming the refund experience for consumers and merchants, has announced the appointment of Anthony Eisen as its Chief Executive Officer. Eisen, who co-founded the financial technology firm Afterpay, brings over 25 years of experience in investment and corporate leadership to his new role.
Since its inception, Eisen has been integral to Reshop, serving as Chairman of the Board and as a founding investor. His leadership at Afterpay, a company he co-founded in 2014 and took public on the Australian Securities Exchange in 2016, is marked by promoting responsible spending and reducing reliance on high-interest credit cards. This experience positions him well to steer Reshop’s next growth phase.
In conjunction with Eisen’s appointment, Reshop has successfully raised $17 million in funding. The investment round attracted contributions from prominent firms, including Matrix Partners, Sound Ventures (co-founded by Ashton Kutcher and Guy Oseary), Woodson Capital, and Touch Ventures. These funds are earmarked to accelerate Reshop’s market expansion and scaling efforts.
Reshop’s platform is designed to enhance the post-purchase experience by providing shoppers with immediate access to refunds, thereby increasing customer satisfaction and driving additional sales for retailers. The company has already partnered with notable brands such as Alo Yoga, Steve Madden, Dolce Vita, Alala, and P.J. Salvage. Early adoption metrics indicate significant impact, with half of the customers making repeat purchases from the original merchant, often within 24 hours.
Dana Stalder, General Partner at Matrix Partners, emphasized the importance of a seamless shopping experience, stating, “Reshop has uncovered an entirely new space in the post-purchase experience, and the platform’s growth to date speaks to the opportunity at hand. We believe Reshop will become integral to the shopping journey for any brand.”
Eisen expressed enthusiasm for his new role, noting, “The refunds space is ripe for disruption and in need of a solution that benefits both retailers and consumers, which is what we’re providing with Reshop. I’m proud of the progress the team has already made since launching earlier this year and am excited to help shape the next chapter in the Reshop journey.”
With Eisen at the helm and substantial new funding, Reshop is poised to redefine the refund process, offering a faster and more rewarding experience for both shoppers and merchants.
