Deckmatch, the AI-powered platform designed to transform private markets, has announced an oversubscribed seed round ahead of its major product launch at the Slush event next week. Co-founder Léopold Gasteen shared the news on LinkedIn, explaining how Deckmatch aims to disrupt the outdated, directory-style approach to private market intelligence by making discovery intent-driven and accessible.
As Gasteen notes, while the internet has moved from basic directories to sophisticated search engines, private market intelligence has lagged behind, relying on tools that often require users to already know the name of a company to learn about its offerings. This limitation stifles discovery, making it difficult to uncover emerging innovations – particularly in areas like AI-enhanced healthcare solutions.
Deckmatch’s platform changes this by using advanced AI to structure data from unstructured sources, such as pitch decks and product specs. This approach unveils previously hidden insights, allowing users to discover companies by their product focus and areas of innovation, not just by their metrics. As a result, Deckmatch reveals patterns and trends in product development that were once difficult to identify.
Significantly, Deckmatch is committed to accessibility. Founders will be granted free access to the platform, bypassing the prohibitive costs typically associated with market intelligence tools. “Understanding who is building in your space shouldn’t require a £30k enterprise subscription,” says Gasteen, highlighting the platform’s focus on democratising access to valuable insights.
The recent funding round, led by Alliance VC and Luminar Ventures, with support from Skyfall Ventures and First Degree, positions Deckmatch to expand into Palo Alto, where it plans to deepen its reach in the U.S. market.
With its highly anticipated launch at the Slush event just around the corner, Deckmatch is set to redefine how private market intelligence is gathered and shared, shifting from static data to a richer discovery experience that fosters innovation and competition across sectors.
