The Access Group has entered into an agreement to acquire Tradify, a leading jobs management software platform that supports thousands of tradespeople worldwide. Tradify, founded in 2013 by Curtis Bailey, has grown from a single desk at Icehouse Ventures to a team of 107, serving over 20,000 customers globally. The acquisition is expected to be finalised by 31st October 2024, pending approval from New Zealand’s Overseas Investment Office (OIO).

Tradify’s platform is designed to streamline the workflows of electricians, plumbers, and other trades professionals. By integrating customer enquiries, quotes, staffing, invoicing, and more, the software has become essential to businesses managing job operations across various sectors. The acquisition will allow Access Group to bolster its portfolio of business management solutions, reinforcing its position as a leader in supporting small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs).

Icehouse Ventures, one of Tradify’s early supporters, invested in the company during its 2016 and 2017 seed rounds, with further backing in its 2021 Series A and 2022 Series B rounds alongside Movac. The acquisition will provide a significant return for Icehouse Ventures investors, with many set to receive substantial payouts, marking the largest cash return for the firm to date. Tradify’s current CEO, Michael Steckler, has been instrumental in driving the company’s success, which is now poised for an exciting new chapter under Access Group’s ownership.

While the financial terms of the deal remain confidential, reports suggest that Tradify’s founder, Curtis Bailey, is set to receive a significant portion of the estimated NZ$100M deal. This milestone highlights the strength of New Zealand’s venture ecosystem, with Tradify being a prime example of a homegrown business making its mark on the global stage.

Access Group’s acquisition of Tradify will further strengthen its offering to trades professionals, aligning with its strategy of providing best-in-class management tools for SMEs. As both companies prepare for the completion of the deal, the integration of Tradify into Access Group’s portfolio promises to bring new opportunities for growth and innovation.
